【摘要】:TheserequirementscovercontrolleddescentdevicesintendedtoprovideameansforloweringpersonnelfromoffshoreplatformsandMobileOffshoreDrillingUnits(MODU)atacontrolledrateoftravel.Theyareintendedtobeusedinemergencysituations.Thesedevicesareintendedtobepermanentlyinstalled.Thesedevicesareintendedtobeusedatamaximumheightof150feet(46m).Theserequirementsapplytodeviceshavingamaximumweightcapacityof300pounds(136kg).ThedevicescoveredbytheserequirementsareintendedforU.S.CoastGuardapproval.Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisstandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementsasdeterminednecessarytomaintaintheacceptablelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisstandardcannotbejudgedtocomplywiththisstandard.Whereconsideredappropriate,revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisstandard.
